Dumb, dumber, dumbest

Sometimes you're in a situation when you have absolutely no clue how certain people could have ever been that dumb. I'm not talking about certain actions of friends or silly rumors that have been spread. No, I'm talking about designers of everyday stuff, people you expect to be smart. It seems that more often than you think 'regular' people are smarter than the designers themselves!

Handy two-in-one...

When I was surfing on the Internet I found that there exists a sandal with a bottle opener built in the sole. At first sight; clever thinking. Although wait a minute; how nasty is it to open a bottle with something with which you walked who knows where?! I prefer to bring my own bottle opener.....

Two USB sticks: impossible
Or, imagine yourself in a situation where you need to put two USB sticks into your laptop. There actually are two USB ports situated on the same side of your computer. However, it is not possible to plug in both the USB sticks at the same, because the plastic covering of the USB stick is too thick!
You would think this is pretty dumb, but there is more.

Now here comes the best, or should I say the worst?! Let's say you need scissors, but you have to buy them first. Once you get home, you take a close look at the packaging. "What?! I need scissors to open the packaging?"

Scissors needing scissors.

  1. Nice post! Quite funny how designers could fail in their designs, but not when you're faced with a bad design of course.
